Christian Youth Theater (CYT), The Nations Largest Youth Theater, is coming to Lafayette.

CYT will be offering drama, dance, vocal lessons and many specialty classes helping your kids between the ages of 4 and 18, discover and grow their talent. Get a taste of what’s coming this fall at the one day summer camp Saturday July 18th, 10am – 3pm at East Bayou Baptist Church in Lafayette. Your kids will have a great time and at the end of the day, you’ll get to see your children perform. It’s just $15 per Child, that includes lunch and a T-Shirt.

The Iberia Performing Arts League is presenting Disney’s Aladdin, Jr. at the Essenee Theatre in New Iberia.  The show will open on Friday, July 17th at 7:30 pm.  Performances will run for two weekends, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (July 17th-19th and July 24th-26th).  Friday and Saturday night performances will begin at 7:30 and the Sunday matinee will begin at 3 pm.  Ticket prices are $10 per person.  For more information or for tickets, please call IPAL at (337) 364-6114.  (There are 2 currently homeschooled students in the production:  Martha and Annette Diaz, and 1 formerly homeschooled student: Joseph Diaz)

Summer Youth Shakespeare Ensemble presents Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  The production will open on Friday, July 17th at 7:30 pm and continue on Saturday the 18th (at 7:30 pm) and Sunday, July 19th (at 2 pm) at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.  Advance ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students.  Tickets will be available at the door for $10 apiece.
